About Guided Energy Work

Guided Energy Work combines the education, certifications, and experiences that Shelley has gathered throughout her life in order to provide you with a healing, empowering, and peace-promoting experience.

Energy work functions for the individual on all levels, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual— clearing away old, stagnant energies and welcoming in Divine love, guidance, and healing. Although every client will experience energy work a bit differently, most clients agree that it’s a soothing, liberating process that has real-world impacts on their lives long after they leave Shelley’s space.

Guided Energy Work sessions with Shelley usually last about 1.5 hours, and include an in-depth conversation about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with insights and guidance from the angels, an energy work session aimed at achieving your highest and best, and time to share insights and takeaways together.

About Shelley Newby (B.A., M.S.Ed., M.Div.)

From as far back as she can remember, the angels have been a part of Shelley’s life. As she aged, and with no one to explain or help her comprehend her experience of the angels, as well as the need to be “normal” once she entered school, her awareness of their company waned and was even forgotten—except for their reliable presence in her dreams.

This was followed by the typical busyness of career and motherhood, during which the angels continued to make themselves known predominantly at night—with the occasional exception of a breakthrough communication in the daylight hours. While Shelley knew these insights were true, she had no idea why she knew this or from where the information had come.

Once all her children were in school in the 1990s, Shelley began to get up in the night to journal and ponder questions about life and purpose that felt unsated by career, marriage, and motherhood.

One night, in the wee hours, her eyes were opened to the appearance of beautiful waves of energy, which prompted her to whisper, “What is this?” She heard, “We are angels.”  She knew this was one of the truest experiences of her life.

After this awakening, Shelley spent time communing regularly with the angels in the quiet of the night, and in this way, her bond with them grew. Her awareness of their presence with her expanded to the daylight hours and she began walking in their presence more and more.

As Shelley integrated her relationship with the angels, her life’s purpose began to unfold in clearer ways. She created a women’s spiritual support group, which continues to this day even though she has moved away. She also began leading women’s retreats with her dear friend, Jacki Madison, and, after hearing the angels tell her while standing in front of her kindergarteners one day, “Your work here is done,” she left teaching to focus more completely on her spiritual path.

One summer day, while driving, Shelley heard, “Go to school in Richmond.” She had no idea what school they were talking about, but quickly discovered that there is a Quaker Seminary there: Earlham School of Religion. She signed up for classes the fall of 1999, and spent four years getting her Masters of Divinity while immersed in Spiritual practices and gaining knowledge about religion. She graduated with an expanded understanding of faith and Life, while feeling less attached to Christianity. Her time there made her more open and aware of the value of Spirituality over religion, personal connection to the Holy rather than a relationship that is regulated through the tenets of a particular church or belief system. She came to understand that ALL religions have their value and no religion has a corner on God.

After seminary, Shelley built a practice offering Spiritual Direction as well as preaching in various churches that needed fill-in pastors. Though she was invited to take a pastoral position, she wasn’t comfortable limiting her experience and understanding of the Unseen enough to fit into a role as pastor. During this period, she continued to offer Angel Readings informally to friends and acquaintances.

In April of 2005, after nearly a year of committing to two hours a day of meditation and focus on her spiritual journey, Shelley received a vision to walk for peace. As she sat with this initial vision over the following weeks, it became clear that she was to walk to Washington D.C., alone, wearing signage front and back that read, “Walking for peace.” She stayed in homes along the way, and shared her message of giving energy to peace, not war. She made it clear that this was a faith walk, not a political one, and that she wanted to give energy to what she wanted for the earth—peace—rather than being against anything. Her experiences walking alone mostly along US40 from New Castle, Indiana, to Washington D.C., spanned from mundane to Holy.

There were many hours spent wondering why she had been asked to make this trek, as well as those of wonder, awe, and Holy connection.Incredibly, there was only one brief moment during the entire 550+ walk that she felt fear. That is a testimony to the presence of the Angels with her, for they consistently remind us to fear not.

In 2009, Shelley and her husband moved to Indianapolis. Here, she immediately found community and connection. She trained and was certified in The Pilgrimage Healing Process, and began offering energy healing sessions through a group called Healing Partners as well as doing so independently.

In 2022, Shelley felt led to branch out on her own, making the Angels her “business partners,” and The Angels and Me, LLC was born.
